Information about Umrah

Peace be upon you In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Our journey for Umrah is a special spiritual experience, where each of us can draw closer to Allah with devotion and patience. On this journey we stand beside one another with respect and cooperation, making this worship as calm and memorable as possible for all of us. Allah the Exalted says: “Complete the Hajj and the Umrah for Allah.” (Al-Baqarah, 196) Umrah is a great act of worship performed in blessed Makkah and includes: entering Ihram, making Tawaf around the Kaaba, performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwa, and shaving or trimming the hair. It is also called the “lesser Hajj” because it resembles Hajj, though it does not replace it. For Umrah to be accepted: sincerity only for Allah, following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, and sincere repentance from sins. “One Umrah to the next is expiation for what is between them.” (Bukhari and Muslim) “Perform Hajj and Umrah one after the other, for they remove poverty and sins just as fire removes impurities from iron.” “The accepted Umrah has no reward except Paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim) “The one who strives in the path of Allah, and the pilgrim performing Hajj and Umrah, are guests of Allah. He called them and they answered; they ask of Him and He grants them.” (Hadith) On every journey we should recite the travel supplication, as the Prophet ﷺ did: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! Subhana-l-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wa-t-taqwa wa mina-l-‘amali ma tarda, Allahumma hawwin ‘alayna safarana hadha wa-twi ‘anna bu’dahu, Allahumma Anta-s-sahibu fi-s-safar wa-l-khalifatu fi-l-ahl, Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika min wa‘tha’i-s-safar wa kaabatil-manzar wa su’il-munqalabi fi-l-mali wa-l-ahl
